Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Wi-Fi, 6″ Display, Graphite – Latest Generation

My Sister in Law has a Kindle that I’ve borrowed from her and I love it. I’ve downloaded a couple of books and it was so easy to do. Not being too technical savy, I was a bit concerned. The Kindle itself is wonderful. I love that you can adjust the size of the lettering. Also love that it stores the books that you want, so you can switch between books as you desire. Since borrowing hers, I’m wanting one for myself now. Absolutely love it and would recommend them.

It’s good to know that you don’t have to be very computer savvy to use one. I haven’t tried one yet but my husband is very interested in getting one.

The best part about the Amazon Kindle is that you can carry around many books at once. I know of some public schools that have eliminated textbooks and gone to Kindles in the classroom. Pretty awesome!

My dad, the king of technology, has been encouraging me to get a Kindle. Any time we are out shopping he puts on his best salesman act and beings to show me all the neat features. His biggest selling point seems to be the fact books are available instantly. Even in today’s “on-line” shopping world it can take a few days to get a physical book in the mail. Any book instantly does have its appeal.

I’m asking for a Kindle for Christmas, I’ve looked at friends and also looked at Barnes & Noble NOOK from what I’ve seen the Kindle is a much better product. The reason I want one is when I take long driving trips if I finish a book I can download a new one without having to look for a bookstore.

    I absolutely LOVE the Kindle!

I do not have one myself but one of the girls I work with in my office has one and I envy hers all the time! It seems great to just pick up and read whenever you want to without having to flip through the pages to find where you were. She answers the phone alot so I could see how she would lose her place with a regular book, but not with the kindle!

I also like the fact that if you want to switch reading from one book to another that is no big deal because you can have so many books “with you” at any given time!

With full knowledge that she is far from tech savy I am shocked at how easy it was for her to download her books with not even one complaint!

My biggest concern was the battery life, but that is not an issue with the kindle either!

Even though I don’t have one myself (it IS on my Christmas list though) I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting one for yourself or even the most casual reader on your gift list this year!

I have been anti-ereader ever since they came out. I am such a huge bookworm…I have almost 1000 books, and I love the feel of a book in my hands. The only time I would use one would be traveling. And with the prices of the e-readers, I couldn’t really justify buying one just to travel. But then I saw the Kindle Wifi is only $139 and that the NOOK is going to be $99 at Best Buy for Black Friday.

So my question for those of you who have one, why is the Kindle better than the Nook?

    Thanks!

I never thought I would want a Kindle. I love books…the real thing. Then my daughter in law, who loves gadgets, bought a kindle. My son, who loves books, laughed at her whimsy and predicted that she would never use it. This summer when we vacationed at the beach I was amazed that they were fighting over who would use the kindle. My son spent many hours reading on the beach with a screen that even in the brightest light is clearly readable. They had a selection of thousands of books and I only had the four that I could pack. I am going to traveling sporadically for the next year and I know that I am bound and determined to bring along a kindle and leave the books at home!

I love my Kindle. I was an early adopter and got the first one out, and my husband just got me the new one for my birthday. I wondered at first if I would miss the tactile part of reading but it was never an issue. I love that it fits in my purse and I always have something to read!
Now I want to get my daughter one!

I’ve been dying to get one I started medical school this year and want an e-reader so I can download textbooks and not lug them around all the time, but wish they’d offer a package deal where you could buy the paper/hard copy and get the e-version free or greatly reduced, as I like having both. I’m unsure whether to get an iPad or Kindle, as it’s hard to invest so much money in a device to read, nt even counting all you have to pay for the books themselves.

I’ve heard that with the latest generation of the Kindle, they have better contrast than any of the other commercial readers widely available. I definitely think that if I get an eReader, it’ll end up being a Kindle.

Kindle Wireless Reading Device 6″, Wi-Fi, New E Ink Pearl Technology has even a longer battery life with a better contrast, for me it means, I can read just about anywhere, at any time. For now, it averages $120 to $140. It’s still worth it.

I’m so glad to have found these reviews. A big plus for me is that you don’t have to be particularly tech savvy to use the Kindle. My husband & I were discussing the merits of e-books recently and I’ve since been seriously considering buying one. It would be great to have my whole library in my bag.

After comparing the Kindle to the Nook, I decided on the Kindle. It is easier to read with much better contrast. I’ve read many books with the greatest of ease. Good decision!

The Kindle is by far my favorite reading device on the market. I really want one for my husband. I took mine on a cruise while reading a series of books and when I finished one, I quickly downloaded the next. It was amazing. No heading down to the bookstore or library for me. It’s great to have during doctors appointments while they make you wait or when you’re waiting for you kids to finish school etc. Definitely worth the money!! Highly recommend this!

I bought a Kindle for a family friend and she loved it. I got the opportunity to use it for a short amount of time after giving it to her, and it seems amazing. The text was bright and clear. The battery life, I’m told, lasts quite a while. It’s just the right size (not too compact, and not too big).

Overall, my impression of the Kindle is it was a great product and one that will be treasured by readers and techology fans. I really would like to see more of a push to a E-book reader by society, but I’m also informed that the library for the Kindle is very large.

I really would like a product like this. I am a casual reader but I am looking to read more, and a product like this, with it’s portability would be wonderful.

Thank you for this contest and the opportunity to win!

I love the idea of being able to switch back and forth between books. Rather than carrying around a pile of books I can keep them all on the kindle. It is also much smaller than a book which means traveling with reading materials would be a lot easier! And no need to worry about losing a book or forgetting it at home, I can just download a copy.

I’m not very tech-savey either so it’s good to know that it’s easy to use! I’d rather spend my time reading a good book than reading a users manual.

I will definitely be adding this to my holiday wish list!

I have wanted one of these since they first came out. I was on a plane with a woman next to me who had one. She let me try it and I loved it. I had a bag full of books she had just that. I would rather carry that than 5 or 6 books.

My daughters nurse recently puchased one and absolutely loves it.

Just think about it – in 1/3 inch thick and weighing only 8.7 oz. and you can hold 3500 books.

You can read to your hearts content with no glare on the screen, and you can download a book in approx. 60 sec.

It has built in WiFi, and it offers free 3G wireless which means no monthly payments and no annual contracts

I have been debating purchasing an ereader for the past several weeks and have been comparing the different brands that are out there and so far the Kindle comes out on top. I love that it can download a book in 60 seconds, battery life of about one month, built in wi-fi, no glare from sunlight and the read to me is a great factor especially if you have a toddler or preschooler who can’t read yet and your traveling. I love to read and have been an avid book reader for 25 years and my kids love to read also. This would be a great addition to our household.

I was first introduced to the Kindle at the doctors office by two elderly ladies. The actually brought it over to me and showed me the many things it does. One of the best features was the highlighting of words you dont know and getting the meaning of them right there on your kindle. After talking to them I shopped for ereaders and I liked the Kindle the best. I loved the way it felt in my hands compared to all the other ereaders I held. I know those two women I talked to said it was super easier to use and I will be buying on for myself after the holidays.
