Soda Stream Fountain Jet Home Soda Maker

I grew up making my own soda with my grandmother in Europe.  At that time, she would attach something I called a carbonator to make soda water from regular tap water.  It was magical as a child, and is something that adds a bit of magic to my grown up life now, and a great magic trick to perform for my children!  As a bit of a health nut, I hate the idea of my kids drinking soda, however the syrups in this soda have less sugar and less caffeine than store bought sodas, and  even offers a few varieties that are totally natural.  That makes me happy.  🙂  As an added bonus, you can make several flavors at the same time, just get 2 or more 1 liter bottles (mine came with 2).  That way the whole family does not have to agree on one type of soda and the 1 liter is the perfect size to drink before it goes flat, but it seems this soda actually stays carbonated longer.  Not sure if that’s the smaller bottle, the carbonation right in your kitchen or some other scientific marvel, but it’s a definite bonus.  With the cost of the machine and of replacing the carbonator and buying syrup, you are not likely to save a lot of money (unless you normally end up getting rid of flat soda very often), but cutting down on the trash from bottles and cans is a huge bonus, as is the ability to have soda on hand to make for guests, only having to store a couple syrup bottles and a few 1 liter bottles.  The replacement cartridges are available online, and also at stores like Kohls and Bed Bath and Beyond, and probably others in other areas of the country (check the website www.sodastreamusa.com).   I have had this product for over a year now and would get it today in a heartbeat! The soda tastes to me like the brand-name varieties, and knowing it’s healthier for us and the environment makes it all the more delicious!

I liked using mine, but must admit I never got a tank refill after the one I had ran out. I would totally use it again if I found an inexpensive way to get the tank filled.

I love ours, we’ve had two of them, the original one and now we have the streamlined Genesis.

We aren’t huge pop drinkers in our family but it’s nice to have around when you have guests or just feel like a pop, so easy to use!! It was a bit of a hassel having to order the soda syrups and CO tank at first, but now these are available at Bed Bath & Beyond stores which is GREAT! Makes things much easier than having to order.

We didn’t drink soda before we got ours as a gift.
I think the flavours are rich and I feel better about my family since they have the naturals line.
Great product. Easy to use, and kids love it!

i really enjoy the soda stream. my kids like to be the ones to pump the co2 in. the flavors are hit and miss but that is to be expected. for example i do not like the lemon-lime but then again i do not like sprite. I wish i had it last year when i was preggo and drinking water all the time. it would have been nice to have had bubbley water for at least a change of pace.
