Cuisinart Grind and Brew 10-cup coffeemaker

I bought this Cuisinart Grind-and-Brew 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker a few years ago from Costco to replace my Milletta Mill and Brew.  On the whole, we really like the Cuisinart coffeemaker.  I will list the pros and cons of this product below.

1.  The coffee is amazing… the taste is great and I have not had any problems with grounds getting into the coffee.

2.  There is no warmer– instead, there is an insulated carafe that keeps your coffee warm.  It doesn’t stay piping hot for hours, but warm and smooth-tasting.

3.  From whole beans, directly to drinkable java!

4.  Moderately easy clean-up.

5.  Reliable timer to set your coffee to grind and brew and be ready for your morning rise!

1.  LOUD grinder!!

2.  A little tedious to put together each time for coffee and clean up afterward.  More parts than my old grinder/coffeemaker combo.

3.  After many years, I now have to baby the on/off switch and the grind on/off.  Hold my tongue just right and stand on one foot as I turn the knobs!

We have had this Cuisinart Grind-and-Brew 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker for a few years (I cannot remember exactly how many… 3-4 years) and it has done well by us.  When it comes time to buy another, I will probably stay with the Cuisinart brand.  I make sure to heat my carafe by filling it with hot tap water while I am getting the rest of the coffeemaker ready to brew.  I usually leave it for 5-10 minutes, so that the coffee will stay hot longer.  I also use filtered water to make my coffee–it really makes a difference!
